The area around my cochlear implant flinched .. weird (??)

Hi there!

There's something really awkward that happened yesterday morning. While I was at work, I felt the area around or where my magnet is stuck to my head flinching. This spot started to flinch, the skin.. not very much but I could feel slight movements. When I wanted to touch this spot to feel it, it stopped... but after some time it started again but each time I wanted to touch it to feel it it stopped.

I know that lower eyelids can finch when you're tired and didn't get much sleep or it's something else but *head-flinching* is totally new to me. :-) Not my inner ear but the skin  where this magnet is stuck to my head, flinched. Weird.

Was that some sort of overstimulation of my ear nerves? or is my ear asking for bilateral stimulation? I'm pondering...

I am not sure what that was, but it felt weird. I'm wondering if anyone else had such an experience. If yes please share it with me.

Thanks for reading!

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I just came back from a funeral in my family. I never like to go to funerals it always makes me sad ... :( It was really hard to say goodbye.

I remember this poem. I came across it a while. I even made a video myself where I recite this poem but I wanted to share this one below here. The one above I put the poem on one of my pictures.

Everyone deals different with grief and sorrow. When I first heard of his death I totally heard it wrong. I thought someone else died and not the one that really did.... My ears.... :( (-.-) I was in a hurry and there was a lot of background noise and I gave up on asking again.... (just to make sure I heard it right)..

I heard it later, when I came home who it was. :(

So now I'm back in Salzburg just feel tired from driving there and back within 48 hours. However I had some energy left to go for a short walk this morning! Though now I regret it... because I feel tired :)

So that's how poetrygirl looks downtown :P If you should recognize me, well then say "hi" :) I'm still pondering what I could write next... which poem... it's time for some writing but I feel stuck. Sad poems would be right for the moment .. but I'm not sure.
I'll make up my mind later!

My Bookshelf

Hello :))

I'd like to share with you some of my favorite books about deafness, sign-language, hearing impairment and cochlear implants, that give you an inside what it's like to have no hearing or to get a cochlear implant, or to have no vision and no hearing and to learn to speak sign language.

Thanks for reading!

Holy cow :) where do I begin???

I'm back home but just for a few hours. Check out my videos on youtube to hear my updates. I have more videos to come but will upload them later when I recover :))) My surgery went okay. I had it in the morning at 8 AM, I had no pain at all, wow I was suprised but in a shock that all was so quickly over I had to cry. The surgery lated for about two hours but I was sleeping for another hour before I woke up.
I'll write more about it later. I don't have much time .. damn it :) but I'll be back soon!

I'll write you soon! Check out my new videos on youtube :)

Sore ear | yeah ...

I'll keep this short as I'll soon go to work... my ear is still sore yeah ... I'm making a big deal out of it *lol* Somehow two days weren't enough to heal ... I feel better if I don't wear my hearing aid, less pain *lol* so I wonder should I wear it at work? Did u notice I write less about phone calls because I don't have to make them right now. So would it be okay if I tell them like I'm going to take it off for a while as it hurts or I'll bear the pain? hm, I have no idea I'll figure it out at work.

Until later .... :)
P.S. I removed the picture *lol* it just looks so gross ... :)
